When will Blackboard no longer be available?
Fall 2018. Blackboard will be available until the end of the Spring/Summer 2018 semester. All course content data will be preserved and can be imported into Canvas.
When can I start using Canvas?
Canvas will be generally available to the entire campus starting in January, 2018. You can login to canvas at canvas.wayne.edu or by clicking the icon in Academica.
Will organizations be moved over to Canvas?
Yes. C&IT be transferring all organizations to Canvas in spring 2018. A general announcement will be sent as soon as this process has started. If you need your organization transferred to Canvas before then, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

How do I get started in Canvas?
You can login to Canvas and begin building your courses at https://canvas.wayne.edu. We also encourage all faculty to participate in training through the Office for Teaching & Learning.

How will my course content get moved from Blackboard to Canvas?
Yes, C&IT has already migrated all courses from 2015-2017 into Canvas. To see your imported courses, login to Canvas and click:
Courses > All Courses
C&IT will transfer course content from 2018 at the end of each semester.
Is there a plagiarism detection tool in Canvas?
Yes. We have integrated UniCheck into Canvas which is comparable to SafeAssign. To access it:
1. Create an assignment
2. Choose "Online" as the submission type.
3. Under "Plagiarism Review" choose your intended options.
Can I still use Respondus, Lockdown Browser and Lockdown Monitor with Canvas?
Yes, all Respondus products currently licensed by WSU are available in Canvas.
Will Collaborate be going away?
Yes. Collaborate is integrated into Blackboard and will not be used in Canvas.
Will Canvas work with iClicker?
Yes. Canvas is compatible with all recent iClicker products. To download the version of iClicker designed to integrate with WSU Canvas:
1. Click "Help" in the global navigation bar in Canvas.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the list and click "Download iClicker for Windows" or "Download iClicker for Mac."
I use course materials provided by a publisher. Will these materials be compatible with Canvas?
In most cases, yes. Course content can be imported from Blackboard. However, we recommend downloading a new copy of your publisher materials designed to work with Canvas. If you need assistance with this process, please contact email@example.com.
